Danville Elementary had some special guests today! The FLY Dance Company from Houston, Texas put on a dance show for our elementary students. The group used their dance skills to entertain the students, while discussing the history of dance and delivering the important messages that everyone can be a leader, that we must remember to treat others with kindness, and that everyone must work together to stop bully behavior. We would like to thank the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center for the donation of this free, energetic program for our students.

We appreciate your patience as you wait for your child’s school pictures. However, the turnaround of our orders isn’t moving as quickly as it has in the past, therefore we will be moving Danville Elementary School Picture Retake Day to November 4th. That will give you plenty of time to evaluate your child’s portraits and make any necessary haircut appointments! The Danville Community School District is hiring for para-professionals to work in the JH/HS and Elementary. These positions are part time position working daily 8:00am to 3:30pm. The person in this position will work when school is in session and is not scheduled to work on holidays, vacation days, days school is closed due to weather, or other times when students are not in attendance. This position offers three (3) personal days and fifteen (15) sick days per year. If interested, please contact Debbie Bennage.

We wrapped up a great Homecoming Week at Danville Elementary today with some of our fall high school athletes greeting our students as they arrived at school this morning. The athletes were on hand to give high fives, take pictures, and welcome the kids to school today. Some great role models passing on their Danville Pride to our future Bears!
The Homecoming Dance will be tomorrow, October 2nd in the JH Gym from 8:00 - 11:00. Homecoming dance is for students 9th - 12th grade only. Cost is $5 for Danville students and $7 for out of town guests. Out of town guests must be 9th grade or older and under the age of 21.
