This year's project focuses on the amount of glyphosate, a herbicide, in honey. He has collected honey samples from different areas of the county as well as his own bees to compare the levels. 🐝

Hello Danville!
I am thrilled to join the Danville Community as the next elementary principal! I am from the area, growing up in Burlington but currently live in Mount Pleasant with my wife Brittany who is a first-grade teacher, and our son, Wyatt. We are also expecting our second son in May! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outdoors whether I’m hunting, fishing, or taking my dog for a walk.
Education has always been a passion of mine and something I have felt was my calling. I got into education because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of students. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Quincy University and a Master’s in Ed Leadership from UNI. My career began at Evans Middle School in Ottumwa and for the past four years, I have been teaching in Mediapolis. In the classroom, I have always had a passion for building positive connections with students and finding innovative ways to help kids achieve higher levels of growth and achievement. I was drawn to Danville because of the success of the district as well as the sense of pride and support from the community. As a leader in Danville, I am committed to serving the students, staff, and community through open communication and constant collaboration to promote growth so that Danville remains a great place for kids to learn!
I’m excited to begin this new journey and can’t wait to get to know the great people that make Danville such a strong community!

Yesterday, our Choral Reading team performed in front of over 2,600 people at the Stephens Auditorium at ISU, and the energy was ELECTRIC!
The auditorium was at full capacity, and they were even turning people away at the door because it was packed! 😲

Info for tonight's games:
Tonight's JH Boys Basketball games will take place in the JH gym starting at 4:30. Doors will be open at 4:00 and admission is $5, cash only, like usual.
Entry into the HS Girls Regional Game will begin at 6:15, and tickets MUST be purchased through Bound. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THE GIRLS GAME. If you are going from the JH game to the HS game, you will need to stop at the gate and get your ticket scanned before entering the HS game.
We will have both the HS Athletic Doors and JH Athletic Doors open for the JH Game, with someone collecting money at each door. For the HS game you can enter through the HS Athletic Doors, or park in the elementary and enter through the Elementary Office Door or the Elementary Entrance Doors, where we will have people checking tickets at both locations as well.
